CPR in Sacramento

March 1st, 2014

I recently moved to Sacramento for a new job and I needed to take CPR classes Sacramento for a required certification. Since I didn’t know of anywhere to go for CPR classes Sacramento, I did a Google search and ended up finding out about Professional Training Institute. The classes were located close my house and they also wouldn’t take terribly long to complete– which was exactly what I was looking for.

Professional Training Institute was a really cool way to take CPR classes Sacramento. It was an interesting and interactive class taught by people who perform CPR almost on a daily basis. I was expecting to be bored out of my mind, but it was actually pretty fun! It was only a few hours and I was able to report back to my new employer that I met all requirements for my new position. Plus, I met a few people in the class and I think I’ll follow up with them in the future.

I am really glad I found Professional Training Institute for CPR classes Sacramento because it was a painless way to get the CPR certification I needed in order to start my job. It only took a week, from calling to find out about scheduling, to going home with certification! RAD!

Therapy for a therapist

September 20th, 2013

Empathy Therapy is a psychiatrist in Sacramento who offers therapy services.

I’ve been a practicing therapist for 20 years, and even I see a therapist! I think it’s healthy for everyone! As you can imagine, I’m pretty picky when it comes to choosing a therapist. That’s why I went with Empathy Therapy. Dr. Chofla respects me as a patient and client as well as another mental health professional. I feel at home and comfortable at his facility.

Empathy Therapy is a great example of a great therapy clinic. In fact, it’s a lot like mine, which is why I initially liked it so much. But it’s also just a great place with great therapists and professionals. I love their office too– I always leave feeling better and less anxious, which is kind of the point, really.

I am happy that I finally found Empathy Therapy and that I can get the help I need so that I can help others. It really makes a huge difference in how I view other people and just my general behavior has changed too. I actually look forward to my sessions because it means that someone is listening to me instead of visa versa!

Painful Cavity

April 26th, 2013

I hadn’t gone to a dentist in Fair Oaks as often as I knew I should and I was starting to have some pain in one of my molars. I knew it was trouble and although I was really busy I knew I needed to make time to see the dentist before it got much worse. I needed to find a dentist to get me in right away, so I turned to My Tooth Spa a Carmichael and Fair Oaks Dentist.

They understood the urgency I was feeling and got me in as soon as possible. They are a great team of people and have always done a great job with the entire family. They were especially helpful for my brother when he chipped his tooth a while back. I knew I was in good hands and that they’d take care of me.

They got me an x-ray and discovered that there was in fact a cavity in my back molar as well as another one on the other side. That’s what I get for not keeping up with regular visits. They got to work treating the cavities and filling them. It sucked that I had cavities, but it was great to have My Tooth Spa there for me when I needed them.

The Easier Teeth Straightening Solution

December 1st, 2012

I had been going to My Tooth Spa, my Fair Oaks dentist, for a number of years before I considered getting Invisalign treatment to straighten my teeth. Truthfully, I didn’t even know that dentists could even offer cosmetic services like that, but My Tooth Spa is one of the only Sacramento dentists who offer Invisalign at their dental offices.  One day, when I had a regular dental exam appointment, I noticed a sign on the side of the office that said that they offered Invisalign. And that got me thinking.

For years I had thought about getting my teeth fixed. I just wasn’t sure what the best option for me would be. I had braces when I was a teenager, so I was reluctant to get them again, just because I felt I had already paid my dues. And I felt my teeth weren’t bad enough to warrant braces. I needed something that wasn’t so invasive but that wouldn’t interfere with my lifestyle. I always thought Invisalign would be the best option for me.

When I went in for my regular appointment at My Tooth Spa, I asked my dentist if she thought it would be possible for me to get Invisalign as an option for teeth straightening. I told her that I had braces 20 years ago and that since then, my teeth have become slightly crooked. Crooked enough that I was considering getting them fixes. She was really helpful and let me know what my options were.

To get my teeth where I want them to be, it would take about 6 months with Invisalign. I actually thought that seemed incredibly short. I was pretty excited to hear that I could potentially have the smile I wanted in less than a year. Half of a year’s time.

The best part was that Invisalign is totally reasonably prices now that it’s been around longer. It would be the same amount as braces would be—why would I even consider looking like a teenager, if I could have the sleek invisibility of Invisalign as a teeth straightening strategy.

I am so glad I was able to get Invisalign through my own dentist. It was really helpful because one roadblock I faced was in having to find an orthodontist. I loved that I just went to my regular dentist for my cosmetic procedures. In addition to the Invisalign, I also got my teeth whitened. It was awesome!

When “Good” Isn’t Good Enough

October 16th, 2012

the perfect dentist in Sacramento Ultimate Dental Group

Roseville General Dentist is a branch of My Tooth Spa specializes in family dentistry services.

I usually don’t blog about companies and services, but I feel I should make an exception because of the service I received a few weeks ago at Ultimate Dental Group in Sacramento, California. Originally I went there for Invisalign and stayed there for the family dentistry.

The way I found Ultimate Dental Group was through an online Google search. I was looking for dentists/orthodontists in my area that did Invisalign. I already had a dentist, but she didn’t have a license to perform Invisalign treatments. But I wasn’t looking to replace my old dentist entirely. Not at first, anyway.

But after spending time at Ultimate Dental Group, I knew that my treatment was their priority. It wasn’t that my other dentist didn’t do a good job, she just didn’t do a GREAT job. When I am looking for someone who has my healthcare in their hands, I am looking for GREAT. Especially when if comes to my family and their health.

It was hard to make the change, and hard to say goodbye to someone who had gotten to know me and my family, but I knew that I was doing the right thing. It was important to me that I made choices for the benefit of my family, not because I was afraid to hurt anyone’s feelings.

In the end, I was happy to have made the switch because Ultimate Dental Group made sure that we got the care we deserved, even when it is outside of business hours. I am happy to have found a dentist who is honest, trustworthy, does great work and is always on time. It certainly is a bonus that we don’t live very far from the Ultimate Dental Group.

If you aren’t happy with your current dentist, or healthcare provider, don’t be afraid to ruffle a few feathers. Your family’s health is something to fight for. And if you don’t fight for them, who will?

Finding a Family Dentist in Sacramento

August 25th, 2012

Happy couple with great teeth after dentist

Roseville General Dentist operates in Roseville CA and offers pediatric, cosmetic and general dentistry services.

We had just moved to San Francisco when my husband lost his job. We moved all the way from St. Louis only to find out that we weren’t going to have income when we moved. Luckily, though, he was placed in the Sacramento branch of the company he was working for.

The downside to this, of course, was having to move all over again. I had done extensive research on the area, from family doctors to housing to which sport leagues the kids were going to join. It was so frustrating to know that I would be starting, yet again, from scratch. On the bright side though, we had some family and friends who were living in Sacramento to get recommendations from. With their help, we were able to adjust so much quicker to our new location.

With three kids, one need I wanted to stay on top of was their dental care. With the healthcare package we got through my husband’s employer, we were able to select our doctors online. But for our family dentist, we had to find one that would take our insurance. So, I decided to Google the dentists in our area. One that came up was Ultimate Dental Group. It also had great Yelp reviews, so I decided to make an appointment right away because I didn’t want to forget. I booked myself, and all of the kids on the same day, which was really convenient for us.

Upon further research, I found that Ultimate Dental Group also offered cosmetic and restorative dentistry in Sacramento. I really liked the idea of being able to have all dental services from the same office. I was especially excited to learn that Ultimate Dental Group offers Invisalign. With kids in middle school and high school, I was pleased to find that I wouldn’t have to get an extra orthodontist for my kids’ teeth straightening needs.

When we came into the office for our visit, the staff and dentists were all warm and friendly. The kids have always been a little anxious about going to the dentist’s office, but they were calm and collected this time. I think maybe all of this moving has made them more accustomed to change. Or perhaps it was sushi I promised them afterward (there is a sushi restaurant right around the corner from the dentist). It was also helpful that they were all in there together and I had plenty of reading material with me so I didn’t mind waiting for them.

My own experience with Ultimate Dental Group was pleasant as well. The hygienists were talkative and friendly but didn’t ask too many questions when my mouth was full of chloride. I know that we will definitely be back to Ultimate Dental Group!

Ultimate Dental Group is located at 7521 West Stockton Blvd. Suite 130 Sacramento, CA 95823

How Veneers Put a Pep in My Step

July 30th, 2012

Picture of a Girl Smiling who has VeneersWhen I turned fifty, I noticed a lot of things weren’t working the way they ought to. I knew it was time to call my dentist in fair oaks. I walked slower, I could no longer beat my son in a game of basketball, and my teeth weren’t like they used to be. I used to play sports, so I had already given my teeth a run for their money. Literally. By the time I was sixteen, I had four teeth knocked out, two of those being my front teeth. To be fair, by body was holding up pretty well considering all the abuse I had put it through all of those years prior. My mother, who had unwittingly become best friends with my dentist, finally pulled me out of hockey after an especially rowdy fight at a hockey game. And that was just the beginning.

My teeth weren’t in very good shape to begin with, but by the time I reached fifty, they weren’t looking as pristine as I had hoped. Some of my implants needed to be replaced and I was thinking that I may even have to get dentures. During a routine visit to my dentist, I asked him about what my options were. I was partly concerned about cosmetics and partly concerned with the integrity of my teeth. I was anxious about the possibility of getting dentures at my age. Luckily, my dentist recommended I get veneers. I had heard of veneers before, but I didn’t really know how they worked and what the advantages of having them were. I was pretty stoked to find out that they were an option for me.

Veneers are created by essentially recreating your teeth to create an overlay that goes over your actual teeth. I wasn’t super attached to my teeth (which is clear by my love of hockey), but I wanted to keep them, if at all possible. Veneers are made of a thin strip of porcelain that are then bonded to your actual teeth. My dentist also informed me that veneers are quite stain resistant, which I was happy to hear. I made a consult appointment for the very next week—I couldn’t wait to get my new teeth!

The procedure itself was relatively easy. It took about an hour and was relatively painless once he gave me local anesthetics. When he gave me a mirror to look at my new teeth, I couldn’t even believe what I saw! I looked younger, and I immediately felt younger. It may seem silly to hear this from a guy that used to play hockey, but seeing my smile at its best not only made me look better, but I immediately felt ten years younger. And lucky for me, my wife entirely agrees.

Sticky: Causes of Hair Loss in Women

April 17th, 2012

Did you know that hair loss in women surprisingly is in fact quite a common condition? You might be surprised with this fact because most of us are educated that men only suffer the condition. The answer to this is no since women do suffer from hair loss and this problem had been increasing over the years. We should be aware though what are the most common causes of hair loss in women. Surprisingly, pattern baldness is also common in women. Some females overproduce the hormone testosterone which is normally found in males and the reaction to this hormone may cause baldness. Women though are great in hiding their baldness with style that is why it is not that obvious. Another medical condition that causes baldness is Alopecia areata. The cause of this is unknown and comprises patchy baldness not only found in the head but also to some parts of the body. There is no known documented treatment for this condition but most doctors prescribe and antibacterial with steroid component cream or ointment and usually it works effectively. This condition would normally resolve spontaneously in no time so there’s no need to worry. Surprisingly, stress can add up to the length of time of recovery that is why, we need to avoid it. For some reasons, stress is the most common aggravating factor of almost all diseases. Common remedies for baldness are proper hygiene in the case of alopecia and for pattern baldness, avoid wearing caps all the time. Mild shampoo is also recommended for almost all types of baldness and of course not worrying too much. Some people opt for hair growth regimens and few of them are effective especially if baldness is hereditary. For girls, it is therefore advised to wear your hair with style in case you suffer for the condition. Hair loss after all is not a threat.
